It's the start of my new #tbt Blog series where I go back and blog some of my favorite Photo Sessions from 2020 that I never shared!
I am sooo excited to share this session in full because it was the start of my season post-lockdown in 2020 and let me be very carefree as a photographer and learn some new posing and prompt techniques!
Mikayla first reached out to me RIGHT before the pandemic started in March of 2020, inquiring for Wedding coverage for her August 2020 Wedding Day. They were planning a late summer wedding at Porter on the Lake Town Park with friends and family, she told me about all the DIY projects she had and what her goals were for the wedding day. As we worked together to make sure my package would fit her needs, of course we wondered what would be allowed by August as we were entering this new life during a pandemic. As a pandemic bride myself, I gave Mikayla and Jared some time and space to figure out their plan. After a few months, they ultimately decided on an intimate wedding with friends and family without any photography coverage, but wanted "fun" professional photographs to capture the love between them!
When it came to planning this session, they wanted to do something fun and unique... and what is more fun that rollerblading and ice cream!!! (especially Lake Effect Ice cream 🍦😋) We met outside Lake Effect Ice Cream Shop in Lockport, NY. They strapped up their blades... Jared being a longtime hockey player and Mikayla not too experienced with the rollerblades, it was very fun to watch this dynamic! She quickly got the hang of it and we circled the driveway along the canals getting some very fun photos.
I was so grateful they asked me to capture their love story in this extremely delightful way! I am so excited for a summer of unique date nights with my clients... if you are interested, check out my Story Sessions and let me know if you have an idea or we can easily come up with a very fun way to tell your love story!
Now enjoy the magic of Mikayla and Jared on Rollerblades 😍
