Engagement Photos in Buffalo

This session is likely my favorite Engagement photos in Buffalo, NY.

New Site, who dis? Noooo, but I figured the best way to celebrate the new website is with a throwback Blog Post!! Since it has been a while since my last post, I decided I wanted to share the story of this engagement session from July 2021.

I like to think Michaela and Cameron were made for each other. From the moment I met them, even just over the phone, we instantly connected and I knew we were going to have a ton of fun together.

These two decided to plan a wedding in the span of just a few months in a state they did not live in... yeah you heard that correctly! With East Aurora being Michaela's hometown, they decided they would get married here in Western New York, while planning from their own home in Virginia and with Cameron's family coming from Texas.

In these few months they had before their wedding, they decided to make a trip to WNY and to squeeze in an engagement session. With coming from out of town and only for a few days, we really only had one evening to shoot. Michaela wanted a downtown vibe with a cocktail in hand, but the weather had different plans for us. I remember watching the radar and hoping the rain would stop in time for the shoot, but considering it was the ONLY night we had, we decided to embrace the weather and bring a cute umbrella with us!

I met Cameron and Michaela outside of Fattey's Beer Co. on Main St. and Genesee St. in Downtown Buffalo, grabbed a few drinks and mugs that Fattey's kindly allowed us to use. Of course within the first 2 minutes of holding his beer, Cam ended up spilling the dark brown beverage down his chest. Great start am I right? 😂 After cleaning up, we got to shooting.

Thankfully the rain was just a light drizzle turned in to sprinkle as we walked down Main St. in Buffalo, NY. They practiced their first dance in the middle of the street and giggled as Cameron came up with photo ideas... see below.

One of my favorite things to do during Engagement sessions is just walk around! Explore the area and see if we can find spot for unique photos. I LOVE shooting down Main St. in Downtown Buffalo so much because of all the possibilities. We just kept walking and shooting until the "sun" went down, aka it was too dark on this rainy day.

The engagement shoot ended on top of a parking garage and this is where I fell in LOVE with this location. They had so much fun dancing around, giggling, climbing, running and playing in the open space and I had so much fun photographing it. This was also one of the first shoots I got to experiment with prisms and fractal effects in my photos.

This Engagement photoshoot will be one of my all time favorites for a long time. Not only was it so much fun, but it started an amazing friendship with these two lovebirds and made me more excited for their October 2021 wedding day... which will be shared soon enough!

Check out my favorites from this rainy July evening with Michaela and Cameron in downtown Buffalo.
